I started programming back in freshman year of High School, and took a programming class for three years and was a TA for the last. My favorite things about programming include the possibilities that it gives us to create, and the wide variety of approaches there are for different problems. It does have its drawbacks, and one of those is that you have to be very knowledgeable about certain things such as where to put this line of code to call this method.
